We Work Together
Life in My Hands Initiative (LiMHi) is a youth-led nonprofit organization committed to protecting marine ecosystems and empowering coastal communities through environmental education, grassroots action, and civic technology. Born out of a deep love for our oceans and the belief that every hand holds the power to restore, we work across Nigeria’s coastal zones to reduce marine pollution, promote sustainable livelihoods, and spark behavioral change from the ground up.
We believe that real change doesn’t come from one giant leap—but from millions of small, intentional actions. Through cleanups, education, advocacy, and digital mapping projects, we equip local champions—especially young people—with the tools to defend our waters and reimagine the future of coastal living.
Together, we’re not just cleaning up the ocean—we’re building a movement.
We Are Non Profit Organization
Life in My Hands Initiative (LiMHi) is a nonprofit rooted in purpose, not profit. Every project we lead, every voice we uplift, and every piece of waste we collect is powered by a deeper mission—to restore our oceans and protect the communities that depend on them.
As a nonprofit, our strength lies in people—volunteers, partners, and supporters like you—who believe in the power of collective action. We reinvest every resource into grassroots change, marine education, and sustainable development along Nigeria’s coastal regions.
We don’t just exist to raise awareness—we exist to raise a generation that acts.
Together, we’re proving that even without big budgets, small actions from committed hearts can ripple across oceans.
We Are A Strong Team
At LiMHi, collaboration is our strongest current. We partner with local residents, youth corps members, researchers, artists, students, and sustainability professionals to create meaningful, community-driven solutions. From the floating homes of Makoko to the beaches of Badagry, our work thrives on mutual respect, shared learning, and the courage to act.
We do not believe in working for communities—we work with them. That’s why our projects are co-designed, co-led, and co-owned by those most affected. It’s in our name: “Life in My Hands”—because change begins when we take personal responsibility for our shared environment.
